A money pit that breaks down constantly
Eric from Charlotte
12/26/2020
first, the actual dishwashing was pretty good. and it was much quieter than the cheap unit we had before.
it broke down constantly. first, the lc* error happens twice a month which requires pulling the unit out, disassemble the bottom and wipe a couple of drops of water off the inside drain tray.
next, the main board went bad. still under warranty but the "samsung" (really tekniton) service guy said that since he spotted a dead ladybug under the unit that he guessed crawled up and caused the main board to short - so they didn't cover it. i spent $300+ on a replacement board.
1 year later, same board goes out. however, this time the new board doesn't fix the problem. now it's with the sub-boards and that would be an additional $300+.
now i need to buy a whole new dishwasher. beware.

Worst dishwasher ever!!
NOLUCKWASHING DISHES
2/27/2019
I have been using this dishwasher since fall of 2018. The design of the rackets is horrible. Wire rungs are too narrow and dinner plates roll all forward and backward on the bottom rack. The wire pins are not long enough so that the dinner plates don't stand upright. The manual tells you to load your salad bowls down the middle of the top rack. The water supply hose runs on the underside of the rack thus not allowing any water to reach the bowls above. I have to rinse all the bowls before I load them in the dishwasher and now load them on the sides of the upper rack and I still have some dirty dishes when the cycle is done. This is even after I use the Heavy or Auto selections. I start the water at the sink so I have hot water available right away but this still has not helped. The Smart dry option for opening the dishwasher to dry faster has never worked and has been looked at by a warranty technician. He couldn't get it to work either and said that most dishwashers don't have this feature so we left it as is.

Horrible Dishwasher
MyPersonalOpinion
12/14/2018
Just had a repairman leave my house. Told me that Samsung does not make replacement parts after 2 years. So I am stuck with a dishwasher I haven't had very long that doesn't work. My experience before that wasn't great either. My dishes were rarely clean, it throws random codes all of the time, leaks, pops open stopping the cycle, and I spend more time fiddling with the adjustable rack pieces than actually loading my dishwasher. I regret this purchase. I am also concerned at how many of the 5 start reviews are incentivized.

After having purchased a dishwasher within the past few years, I was on the fence whether or not to get an even newer one, since the one we had was doing a fine job. Boy did we make the right choice and go with the new Samsung model with the Waterwall Technology. This dishwasher cleans like there is no tomorrow. First of all the capacity is great. We can easily fit two meals worth of dishes, pot, pans, silverware in to this guy and still not lose the cleaning you get from when you overcrowd a lesser dishwasher. I've ran minimal cycles, Auto cycles, and a full blast Waterwall cycle just to take it for a spin drive. The auto cycle for us does the trick each and every time. Somehow it figures out what needs it the most and what needs it the least and it runs its course. Dishes come out each and every time dry and clean. (The door popping open feature is great at the end of the cycle - saves money and dishes dry faster). We did a large family sized lasagna one day and after 3 days in the fridge and all the leftovers gone, I put it in the rack and gave it the Waterwall feature and the glass tray was cleaner somehow from when I first started. It truly did clean the heck out of it, and I did not pre soak or remove any of the older stuff from the tray. We couldn't be happier with the purchase of this dishwasher. It runs circles around the competition and you would never know it was on since its so quiet. I would totally recommend this dishwasher to anyone on the fence or trying to figure out the one they want. I was an Insider who tested this product. Excellent job Samsung!

So Quiet
Mareleopard1
11/6/2018
The Samsung Top Control Dishwasher with Waterwall Technology is amazingly quiet. I reviewed it as a member of the Insiders program. I have an open floor plan, so noise level is important to me. When the dishwasher is on I can't hear it, although my living room is pretty much the same room as my kitchen. The only sound I hear is a very soft trickling of water as it drains. Like it's gently raining outside. It's soothing, actually.
When I purchased this dishwasher I had concerns about its appearance. My kitchen appliances are stainless steel while this Samsung dishwasher is black stainless steel. I needn't have worried. It looks fabulous and not one bit out of place. My plan is to eventually replace all of my appliances with the black stainless. I now know that I don't have to rush, since the black looks great, even amongst the regular stainless appliances.
The first time I used the dishwasher I used it without any rinse agent. I had none on hand and just couldn't wait to try it out. The dishes turned out beautifully. The Waterwall Technology is absolutely amazing. Until I used this dishwasher I hadn't realized what a terrible job my old machine was doing.
After I used the dishwasher several times I did have an issue with water not draining. I ran a cycle and when it was done there was grey water standing on the bottom of the dishwasher. A lot. I ran a quick cycle with no additional detergent and the dishwasher drained properly. There've been no problems since, but I'm keeping an eye on it.
This dishwasher is aesthetically pleasing, super quiet, and is a strong performer. However, before you buy it be aware that it does not heat dry the dishes. Instead, the door pops open shortly before the cycle ends and a fan kicks on which disperses the steam. This is the one feature that I'm not crazy about. The open dishwasher releases the moisture from the dishes into the air. I wouldn't mind so much, except my house doesn't have central air conditioning so I could certainly do without the additional heat in the air during warmer weather. On the other hand, it is more energy efficient, which makes up for it somewhat.
I recommend this dishwasher, but only if you can live with the convection drying. It's amazingly quiet and the dishes come out sparkling clean.

Had the dishwasher installed about six months ago. One problem is that the upper rack should be about two inches higher in the machine so that plates can stand tall in lower rack. Rotating sprayer attached to upper rack hits/stops at plates unless thay are at an angle. With that said the dishwasher does a great job of washing dishes. They come out clean and dry. Sings a song when it finishes washing.

So Good, You Won't Even Know It's There

My family recently moved into a new house that included older but very high end-appliances. However, shortly after repiping the house, we had issues with the dishwasher and was able to test and review a Samsung dishwasher as part of The Insiders program. We selected the Samsung Top Control Dishwasher with Waterwall Technology to replace it. We couldn't be more pleased.
Samsung is our 3rd brand and high-end dishwasher in the past five years. At our previous house, we had installed a very nice stainless steel dishwasher. Between my experience with the three separate brands, Samsung is by far the best.
Appearance:
First and foremost, it is a very nice looking appliance. We went with the black stainless steel model since our existing appliances were black, and it would be a closer match. I couldn't be more pleased. I love the look, and it does not spot up like our previous brand's stainless steel model. We used to shine our dishwasher after every two uses, after three weeks and several cycles a week, we have yet to clean the dishwasher, and it still looks as if it has never been used.
r been used.
Noise Level:
Samsung advertises this as a low noise (42 dBa) model. Our previous model was rated at 47 dBa, so apparently, there is a huge difference in 5 dBA because you can barely hear the Samsung dishwasher unless you put your ear to it while it is in running. We no longer have to set our dishwasher to run at 2 am in order to keep it from being an inconvenience.
Cleaning Performance:
The dishwasher cleans amazingly. You have the ability to select specific areas to deep clean with Zone Booster or vary the level for the entire cycle. I have found that it cleans all of our dishes great on the Normal cycle. With kids, we do end up with a lot of lunch containers covered in peanut butter, in those cases, the heavy cycle works better, or just take a minute to do a pre-rinse in the sink before you add it.
AutoRelease Door Drying:
This is one of my favorite features. The door automatically opens about 10 minutes before the cycle completes to aid in the drying process. This helps with the energy efficiency, but it has also helped keep our glasses and dishes free from spots. A side bonus…no more wondering if the dishes in the dishwasher are clean or not.
Overall, my family and I could not be more impressed with this dishwasher, and it has truly made our lives easier. I guess the third time is a charm…Thanks, Samsung!

Hmm... it's a refrigerator, it has 2 jobs, it cools things, it freezes things. What more does one need, right? Well as an added bonus, it even makes ice for you, not to mention it looks darn good while it's doing it's job.
Speaking of cooling and freezing, it even has a power cool and power freeze function if you need to quickly cool down or quickly freeze the compartments. They are both nice little features to have.
Let's say you just loaded up the fridge portion with a bunch of products that are close to room temperature, or at least warmer than the fridge temperature, and you wanted to quickly cool everything down. You just press the quick cool button and the refrigerator will power cool the refrigerator portion down to 25F or at least attempt to drop it to that temp for as long as 2 1/2 hrs before resetting back to normal temperatures.
Or perhaps you need to make ice faster than normal, you hit the power freeze button and the freezer will work harder and lowering the temperature which in turns freezes the ice faster and makes more ice. nifty huh?
Oh, there's also an eco button to help the refrigerator run more economically. I haven't tried that button yet to see how well it works, and I don't currently have a my refrigerator hooked up to an energy usage meter, yet, so I couldn't say how well that button actually saves energy.
The french door style is pretty nice, unlike side x sides, you can actually put wide food trays, containers in the refrigerator more easily.
The counter depth freezer, in my opinion, takes a little getting used to. I need to be more efficient at placing my food in there to maximize the space available.
The LED lights inside the fridge and freezer are nice and economical, but boy is it bright, like seriously bright. I would have to say it's in the 6000-8000k range on the color temperature chart. Which is a bright white color that is hard on the eyes, especially if it's night and the lights are off and your eyes aren't adjusted to light yet. My suggestion would be to turn on the lights in the kitchen first and let your eyes adjust before opening, or just wear sunglasses before opening. :D
What I really like though is how the temperature is controlled, you get an actual digital temp reading with buttons to set your desired temperatures instead of a dial, it really is great way to control and monitor the temperatures.
All in all, it's a nice refrigerator. It's only 18 cu ft, so I think it is perfect for apts and condo's or one to two person homes, but you can easily run out of space if it's holding food for 3+ people

Samsung Waterfall (DW80M9550UG)

The Samsung Waterfall (DW80M9550UG) has many exceptional features, but the one my family appreciates the most is the sanitize option; with an infant it is especially important. The Waterfall runs extremely quietly and does not interrupt the sound in my home compared to my old GE dishwasher which could often interrupt TV watching. The water wall feature cleans the dishes really well and the extra settings are nice if you need to do a special type of load. The racks can fold up or down depending on your needs, which is awesome. My dishes come out sparkling clean, I love the feature that it opens automatically once the cycle is complete. This product is amazing and a great buy, not to mention it looks outstanding. It's sleek and clean look matches well with our dark espresso cabinets and the fact that it is resistant to displaying fingerprints makes it even more superb! I am reviewing the Samsung Waterfall (DW80M9550UG) as part of the Insiders program.

The Samsung Waterwall Dishwasher is truly an amazing dishwasher from the its design to the internal components and the waterwall technology. This dishwasher truly does an amazing job cleaning and drying dishes. It leaves dishes sparkling clean without the need of pre-rising them before placing them in the dishwasher, which i must say has made our lives much easier, no more pre-rinsing dishes. I have tested out this dishwasher for about 2 weeks now and it has yet to let me down. I have tested the dishwasher with hard stuck on foods, to greasy pots and pan and each time the dishes come out clean. This dishwasher is equipped "Speed Booster" option. I have had the privilige of trying out the speed booster option on my samsung washer and dryer before so i was pretty confident in it. The speed booster option cuts down the wash time by roughly 30 minutes without sacraficing on the cleaning or drying part. The dishwasher is also equipped with the "Zone Booster" options, which allows you to have the waterwall more focused on the part of the dishwasher lower rack which may need more cleaning, and i tried this out with the pots and pans and also with heavy stuck on food, and it passed with flying colors. All in all and amazing dishwasher. I REVIEWED THIS PRODUCT AS PART OF THE INSIDERS PROGRAM

Sleek and Quiet.. I like it!

I got my dishwasher a week ago and let me tell you what I love: 1. This thing is quiet! Let me tell you, I forget its running most of the time. 2. I can power my dishwasher off and on, which is cool. My old one was on all the time, there was no off/on switch. 3.The little song it places to let me know it starts and finishes is adorable. It's a little thing, but for me, it's the small details that make me fall in love with products. 4. The sleek design. Can't beat it. My dishwasher looks like Robocop's mask and the geek inside of me likes it. 5. The power is crazy! I put my gross old pans with stuck/burnt cheese on it and set the dishwasher to pots on the left side of the dishwasher and it powered washed that gross ol' cheese right off. Now, here's a friendly reminder my mom use to tell me.. just because your dishwasher can clean the food right off, doesn't mean your pipes can handle that. So be warned.. you could possibly ruin your pipes. 6. The smell is gone! So, I had a fridgeraire dishwasher and it had a bad habit of holding on to odors. Specially in my area were we use well water, which has its own set of smelliness. I always had to wash my plastics twice to get them not smelly. I have not had to do this once. This alone was worth it.. talk about reducing water waste. All in all, I love this dishwasher. The only downside is that I was under the impression that I could use this dishwasher with the Samsung Home products (i.e., make it connect to my phone), but it looks like this dishwasher doesn't have that feature.. so sad.

I am seriously overjoyed with this purchase! This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever been around/used. We don't even know it's running unless you look for the light. The auto-release is great because we run ours overnight and the dishes are dry in the morning. It only opens a few inches, but is very effective. I love the set up, the extra rack on top is a great addition for toddler dishes (and bottles). My absolute favorite part is the booster zone! You need to read the booklet to understand how to turn it on and what setting it's with, but I can barely wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and they turn out clean! I am an insider & I would HIGHLY recommend this product!

In a family of 5, we generate a great deal of dirty dishes, with varying degrees of filthiness (From very filthy to extremely filthy). Our old dishwasher which came with the house as the builder installed appliance was just not cutting it. The Samsung Top Control Dishwasher with Waterwall is handling everything we throw at and then some. 1. Overall Cleaning Power The dishes that we are washing usually have some bad caked on grime, and so far the waterwall technology is taking care of that perfectly. We also used to have some issues with water spots. The glassware that we are running through is coming out crystal clear. 2. Noise Level This thing is so quiet that when it was first installed, I wasn't even sure it was on. I had to open it and make sure there was water splashing around in there. Compared to my older dishwasher it's like night and day. Almost completely silent. 3. Aesthetics It looks amazing; it blends in perfectly with the rest of my kitchen. The soft blue light that emanates from the handle area when it's running looks really cool.. high tech. The finish screams quality. The wash tub is also stainless steel, which is a really nice addition and also speaks to the level of quality when it comes to materials. 4. Features The features of this dishwasher really set it apart from the other brands. When a wash cycle is completed, it opens the door to air dry the dishes, and does a great job of drying. The top rack adjusts up and down to make room which is a great feature to have for when you wish to wash tall cups or large pots/pans. The silverware racks have slots for individual silverware, which leads to cleaner silverware. The slots also flip up to put whatever else you need to fit into the silverware racks. There are varying wash modes, all of which seem to do a great job. The flex zone feature is great if you have a really badly soiled load of dishes to do, but not enough to fill the whole washer. It concentrates the water pressure on the waterwall (bottom part) which really does an amazing job of un-gunking dishes. If you, like me have had issues with builder supplied appliances that are just not cutting it, and need something with a lot more power, or if you are just looking for a feature filled and beautiful appliance, I highly recommend the Samsung Top Control Dishwasher with Waterwall.

This dishwasher is exceptional if you make sure it is level and you do not load pans that the handle sticks past the rack. That is the only time I had an LC code was human error, took it out dried the float and drain pan and moved the handle on pan no more problems. Even though the door shut it allowed for just a little water to spray and cause the code other than that no problems use it everyday. Same with all SAMSUNG I have all matching appliances now and love them all.

Dishwasher was purchased as part of a suite during a kitchen remodel. Dishwasher has NEVER completed a cycle since the day it was installed. Samsung service has been dispatched three times the technician has witnessed the issue first hand. Multiple parts have beed replaced, including the main control board, User interface but the problem persists.
At this point I'm basically stuck with an 800.00 dishwasher that is still in warranty, but doesn't work and I don't see any resolution.
Samsung service is sub-par. Every call is basically scripted on their end. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this product.

I was very excited to try this dishwasher since I have other Samsung products that are great. I received the fingerprint proof black stainless steel that was very sleek and modern looking. I put the "fingerprint proof" to the test first by letting my overly enthusiastic kids feel all over the front – not a fingerprint to be seen! The controls for the dishwasher are located on the top and only need a gentle touch to select. I haven't run into a situation which needed it yet but the dishwasher also comes with an automatic leak detector. Taking a look inside there are two separate cutlery caddies (both removable for extra space), multiple configurations for the racks, and an adjustable top shelf with an extra cutlery tray. There are seven different wash cycles the quickest being rinse only at 15 minutes going to heavy cycle running around 3 hours depending on extra wash options chosen. I honestly haven't had to use any cycle other than the normal with zone booster to adequately clean my dishes and pots. This dishwasher has surpassed my expectations. The top rack looked like it might be small but I have large glasses and long stem wine glasses that have fit right in. I am able to fit pots, baking dishes and plates all in the same load. With my last dishwasher I had to rinse all my dishes before running. With great resistance I put pots and dishes in this dishwasher without rinsing first to see if they came out clean. To my surprise not only did they come out perfectly clean but the dishwasher was so quiet I had to turn down the TV to make sure it was running! At the end of the cycle the door automatically opens and plays a little jingle which I find amusing. I was very happy to see that when it is finished there is no water collected on top of glasses, containers or silverware and everything comes out spotless. Overall, I would highly recommend this dishwasher and already have to friends and family members.

I bought this dishwasher in June. The unit looks great and for about 20 days it worked well. It is very quiet.
But then my nightmare started. One day after the wash cycle it stopped with code LC. LC stands for "leak code". This dishwasher leaked and basically my basement had a lot of water. The shutoff valve had failed and if my wife had not been to the basement for something I would not have known. Also when this unit gets the LC code, it does not shut off. I had to turn off the circuit to the dishwasher and also turn off the water supply to it.
I see a lot of folks on the internet with similar issues. I did not expect the unit to fail within a month!

When draining water, the corrugated plastic drain hose makes so much noise that it makes me jump, even when I am in another room. I might be able to replace it with a normal hose rubber hose, but for now, it's LOUD. Another noise issue happen when the cycle finishes. Rather than beeping or playing a few note, it plays a song that goes on and on and on. If I want music, I turn on the radio. Lastly, a small dish wound on the bottom, during a wash cycle, and the belt, that moves the sprayer back and forth, broke. That's going to be expensive to repair!

I'm not sure we'll ever get used to the little serenade it plays when the cycle finishes, a chime would have been sufficient. That's not to say it's annoying...more like amusing.

Dishes came out clean even with baked on food. A chime rings when the washer is finished with the door opening. Timer tells you how long it will take to wash. Never knew how long it took! Now I do. Is it faster than my last dishwasher? Can not tell you. Let's hope it last 20 plus years like the last dishwasher! Stand by!

Disappointed, limited space, poor rack design

I was initially excited about this dishwasher, but once I started using it I felt more and more disappointed with each use.
1) the bottom rack has some counter productive racks/slots which make it only suitable for thin plates. For whatever reason, they've angled them in such a way guaranteeing them being impossible to use for bowls or other dishes, and they're not even adjustable. I am surprised this design ever passed any sort of QA. I wish I had kept the rack from my previous dishwasher to use instead.
2) the extra rack on top has very limited use; it was a waste of resource. It only limits how much clearance there is between the adjustable middle rack and the bottom rack.
3) getting the dishwasher to start is usually random. I usually have to press start, close it, wait, realize it didn't start, open it, press start again, close it, etc., repeat, until it starts.
4) It's not as quiet as the brochure claims. I tested with a dB meter, and it's more in the range up upper 50s rather than 30s. So, that was a lie

On our second dishwasher in less than 4 weeks

To start we bought all new kitchen appliances and we bought all Samsung products after hearing good things from friends and family. We purchased everything from Best Buy. Yes the dishwasher is very quiet and seems to clean well when it works. The first dishwasher worked great for a couple weeks then started leaking out the side of the door, and when the cycle was finished the door would swing all the way open not just the roughly 6 inches that they state. the swinging open too far was not the issue it was the leaking that I had a problem with. Best Buy then brought another one out and this one worked fine the first load after that the dishwasher would not completely drain at the end of the cycles. I am pretty upset about this as I spent allot of money on these appliances and have had to take time off work to be there for technicians multiple times now. This time I called Samsung to have them come out to take a look. At this point I want to get rid of this dishwasher and if something cant be worked out I will probably stay away from Samsung here on out. Please be careful when buying this dishwasher.

Love everything except the rack, it's a little awkward to load.

Warning. This dishwasher is horrible!
I have a Samsung refrigerator that I would rate A+. I wanted to stick with the same company and buy a Samsung dishwasher. Big mistake.
After two weeks of daily dishwasher use: 1) top rack items are not cleaned successfully 2) top rack does not slide out in a smooth manner 3) dishes fall over on the bottom rack 4) Today the dishwasher stopped working and the code displayed suggested that the power should be shut off until a tech looks at it.
I complained to Home Depot today in person and voiced my concerns to several employees. Home Depot arranged for a technician to look at it next week. I want them to take this box of junk away.

We have dishware from IKEA which was a bit challenging to fit in well for our first load but this is an impressive appliance, amazingly quiet! We purchased at Sears for a lot less than the list price!
