We bought this unit back in May of 2018 when we moved from CA to TX and has worked very well. We did recently replace the compressor but it was under warranty and I only paid the service call. The unit is easy to clear and we love the large bottom freezer. So much better than a side to side.

Ive had this frig for a little over 4 years and was very happy with the look function and features. I love that I can get water out of one spout and ice out of another so I can easily get both with one hand without having to switch modes. I love that I can get ice and water from the outside and I like that the freezer has three compartments with one being a thin slide out tray where I can keep small items. Everything was great until the compressor went and it took a total of six service visits over the course of two+ weeks to get it repaired. It was however all covered under the original warranty so at least cost was not a factor....except for hundreds of dollors of spoiled food.

Water leaking behind ice maker and freezing ice maker door and tray. Corrosion on water in door area makes it look nasty instead of pristine. The fridge is beautiful but it was expensive and has already cost me time and repair bills. Quality is lacking.

We bought this fridge in 2019. Overall its a good fridge. The ice maker has issues periodically but the big one the compressor went out all at once with no warning at only 4 1/2 years old Our last fridge was right at 40 years old It went out when we kept having power surges and outages with Evergy. Thats when we bought this fridge. Lost ALLLL of our food and I had just went grocery shopping the day before. Hoping and praying this compressor lasts

Bought my fridge in 2019. Love it. Wanted the most inside space with a moderate footprint to fit in the kitchen. This one is perfect. Shelves and drawers are great everything adjustable. Ice maker keeps up with a family of 5.
4 years mark the compresser went out. Called LG customer service. A service call was made by LG to a local repair company. They were able to be out within 7 days to replace the compressor. All repairs parts and labor were covered by LGs warranty.

Looked long and hard for a new fridge with a big freezer. Love the 3 drawer system in the freezer and the gallon door capability. We loved it until the compressor broke and we lost a bunch of food and had to live out of a cooler for a few days. But glad Lg replaced the parts just outside of the 5 year labor coverage. The online and phone process for getting it fixed was confusing. But we eventually got there.

A brand new refrigerator should last longer than 4 years. Compressor quit working couldnt find a repair man to work on it. Dealt for 3 weeks with LG customer service only to be cut off repeatedly and left high and dry. Finally found my own technician and paid for a new compressor. He told me this is common with this brand of appliance. LG really needs to address this issue.

Eight years with this French Door Counter Depth refrigerator. Ample room for our needs. Maintains refrigerator and freezer temps well. Adjustable shelves and well-lit interior. Ice and water in the door work flawlessly. In day-to-day operation - an excellent refrigerator/freezer.
Now on to the problems: Two weeks after delivery Approx 03/14 bottom of the refrigerator compartment became completely frozen in ice - Yes the REFRIGERATOR So much so that the drawers would not pull out - they were trapped in ice. Service tech came out and we spent hours with hair-dryers melting all the ice and cleaning up the resultant flood. Tech could find nothing that would have caused this and offered the opinion that it was a one-time occurrence and left. Well you guessed it - Two weeks later same situation arose I did some research on-line and found a chat board frequented by LG Service Techs. One mentioned a very similar situation and the solution was to replace the mother board - it was defective as delivered. Showed the tech what I had found and after resolving the new frozen/flood scenario he ordered a new mother board. He was back with the new MOBO five days later - this time the frozen condition wasnt as bad and we cleaned it up fairly quickly. Installed the new MOBO and all has been well since.
Second major issue: Compressor failed after eight years. LGs Linear Compressor is guaranteed for ten years so the replacement compressor was covered under the warranty. Part covered - not the labor to install it which was ONLY slightly more expensive than the cost of the part. Big bucks to install a new compressor Two reasons this is a major problem - 1. Eight years is way too soon for the compressor to fail remember the good-old-days when refrigerators out-lived well almost anything and 2. The replacement compressor is only warranted for 90 days.

The refrigerator is just like the previous defective one we owned but the inside configuration is a bit simpler ... and seems deeper. What I am VERY DISPLEASED about is your registration website. Not only does it require a ridiculously long and complicated password but after setting it up and going back in the next day it would not let me in with the password that I established the day before. Horrible website and not user friendly at all Overall your company leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately.

Ive had this fridge 5 years now and it has died for the last time. Ive had 4 total food losses due to compressor failure and other software related issues.
What I like:
-Great looking fridge
-Good capacity for a counter depth
-Air filter always kept smells down
-Great slimline ice maker
-Smart storage layout
-Great tasting water with LG brand filters
What I didnt like:
-4 total food losses due to hardware / software failure
-Compressor was quite noisy even when brand new
-Compressor stopping when opening a door cant be good for the life of the compressor
I loved this fridge and I tried to stick with it but 5 failures in 5 years is just too much. Theres a lot that LG does very well but this was not my experience. Thankfully LG worked quickly during the warranty period to get me back up and running. Maybe Ill come back around to LG appliances in the future but I need a break.

We bought the fridge 2018 and we are not very happy about the quality of the compressor and fans of the fridge. Dec 2022 first the cooling fan stopped working and after a week fridge compressor went out spoiling food items reserved for Christmas dinner. I like the fridge but seems that it might require costly repairs every few years so I am not very happy with it.

Owned this LG for 4 years and compressor died. Tried getting a repair technician to look at the unit NO ONE will service LG. Class action lawsuit ended 2 months before my model was installed but even so a new compressor will do no good since the problem will recur According to all technicians I have spoken with. We are throwing this LG appliance away and replacing with Frigidaire. Good bye forever to LG and I hope no one else purchases this defective appliance.

We had a compressor problem with our refrigerator. Mr Han was punctual put down a plastic guard to protect our wood flooring and worked diligently and quietly the entire time.
He was also polite anf succinct in answering our questions. It was indeed a very postive experience unlike others that we have had. Kudos to Samuel Han

This refrigerator was sold by LG with known design defects in the compressor and it refuses to take responsibility. There were multiple class action lawsuits in multiple countries on the same faulty compressors. When you try to talk to someone in charge at customer service you get the run around and no results. I will never buy anything from LG again.

Item had good ratings from Consumer Reports. However I found my first one to stop working and had to have replacement delivered. Makes more noise that noted in the reviews. Not the most storage space thanks to the bulky icemaker/dispenser and the space needed for water filter. Stainless steel exterior scratches easily - be careful.

Great unit when it works. Had this model for 7 years and just had the second compressor replaced along with a coolant leak. First fix was covered. This one parts partially covered but no labor. Essentially spent half of whatbannew fridge would have cost. Next time it gets replaced.

Just finished my 6th year with this fridge. It runs remarkably quietly. But I have had two issues that required service. The first one was the ice maker that was under warranty and the last was the compressor which was partly covered. The part was under the 10 year but the labor was not. And there sure have been a lot of them and that resulted in the class action suit. So the chopice is yours.

This is my second LG the first one stopped running after about 2 years and after several appointments they could not fix it so they gave us a lesser amount of money that we paid for it to buy a new one The second one started having problems also after a short time A technician came out7 times and replaced it with American parts it worked fine for several years and now we are experiencing problems again I have all LG products in a second home My gas range does not have a safety click if you accidentally hit the knob My husband and I almost died from the gas The fire and paramedics came to our home luckily we were in k I have lost large amounts of food I will never purchase an LG product again

After 2 years it broke down have warranty and they still couldnt find a service tech to fix it under warranty. Then it started up on its own worked for 2 years again and then broke down again still under warranty had to have compresser replaced. And so far it is working but its only been a month. HEY LG WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX YOUR COMPRESSORS PERMANENTLY??? My fridge model # wasnt listed in your class action litigation list but it still broke down.

I bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. It stopped cooling so I contacted LG. They could not get an LG-certified repair person out for several days so all refrigerated food had to be discarded. The repair person arrived and replaced the compressor. There was no apology by LG. Damage to the surrounding refrigerator cabinet from melting ice was not covered. At least a couple of hundred of dollars of food was wasted and had to be repurchased. The refrigerator does work and keeps food cold as does the freezer. The strip between the two doors takes getting used to and is sort of clunky. The pictures on the water and ice depressor wear off and look bad after a few months of use.

Bought this in January of 2019 and the ice maker/ freezer has been fixed 4 times. The ice maker stops making I e quite often but can be restarted by shutting off the breaker and waiting 24 hours. It has had to be replaced three times already as well as the compressor and the board. Since I had three year service plan with Lowes LG is making it very difficult to reference all of the repairs. Ive also had to replace broken drawers and shelves.

An amazing amount of space for a counter depth french door refrigerator. Well designed. Easy to clean. Display indicates temperature settings for the refrigerator and freezer compartments but unfortunately does not display the actual temperature. Had to replace the compressor after a little over two years.

The compressor of early models had a design flaw which caused enough failures to merit a class action lawsuit. LG dealt with the issue settled it and even though my refrigerator did not fail until after the deadline in the settlement they repaired mine in any case. Another minor flaw in the engineering is the access to the drain from moisture developed when the defrosting cycle occurs. The drain line is faily small diameter and can become clogged and cause water to flow out onto the base of the refrigerator. Not hard to wipe it up but you have to remove essentially all the food in the freezer to remove the panels to get to clean out the clogged drain. Increasing the diameter of that drain pipe would likely avoid having to bring in an expert to clean it out. They were familiar enough with the problem to complete the cleanout in 20-30 minutes but it is not something that an amateur should do.
