The dishwasher has to be unplugged/reset every time. It stops in mid cycle. Its impossible to just turn it on and leave as it has to be watched for stopping and needing to hit start button. Will never buy another LG product.

This dishwasher cleans dishes very well but I also had the rusting issue that everyone else seems to have. I had read the reviews before and just figured they abused the dishwasher but we were extra gentle because of the known rust issue and still got the rust. We recently reached out to LG support via Facebook and their answer was here are the links to the part your dishwasher that is out of warranty. This dishwasher is less than 5 years old and I need to replace the 2 racks. I could buy the racks every 3 to 5 years for half the cost of the dishwasher new but I do not want to pay a subscription for my dishwasher. I will be sending this dishwasher to the landfill and never buy an LG dishwasher again. Honestly who makes rustable parts for the inside of a dishwasher? DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER

Great Dishwasher before and after technical diffic

We have owned this machine for about 2 or so years and it served us well every day until recently. Thankfully bought the extended warranty with it because around November the control panel started going crazy with flashing codes and it wouldnt complete an entire wash cycle. I had a tough time getting someone to help us get it fixed for several different reasons but eventually got the help we needed and after 3 months of messing around we finally were able to have a tech show up to diagnose the problem. It was a simple fix a week later and we are back to enjoying the quiet yet deep cleaning dishwasher once again. Glad I bought the warranty but super glad we bought LG.

How long should a dishwasher last...

I bought this dishwasher 5 years ago. The main board crashed less than 1 year from time of purchase. Luckily it was under a warranty but still a hassle to fix. Fast forward 4 years and we are experiencing the same type of electrical glitches. The advertised ThinQ app did not work. Nor could we ever get it to work. Both racks have rusted. It is not cost efficient to buy 2 new racks PLUS replace another mother board. Very disappointed in the quality of this machine. By the way dont expect great customer service from LG in trying to resolve issue. It is essentially a call center with not technical expertise

I assume this is the dishwasher I purchased 6 years ago with a 10 year warranty good only for the motor and not the electronics that failed recently. I had 6 good years but I expected more. Because of the questionable reliability of LGs appliances I recently replaced my washing machine with a competitor although I was considering an LG before this short-life product. Maybe you should stick to TVs if you wont support your kitchen appliances with reasonable warranties.

Rusted Dishrack and Long Wash/Dry Time

This dishwasher came with our house that was renovated with new appliances in 2018. After 4 years of previous ownership the bottom dishrack has large areas of rust that we cant seem to find a replacement rack for. It seems cheaply made. The wash/dry time is 2+ hours which seems very excessive. We might have to replace the dishwasher since rust isnt healthy for any household. Also a significant annoyance is that our dishwasher only seems to run in auto mode and nothing else.

I have had this diswasher for 5 years. I admit that I didnt pay much attention to it but I dont abuse it and clean it regularly. Recenly I discovered that the back of the washing racks s had severely rusted and top plastic of the diswasher part of the control panel was severely cracked. Both of these problems should not have occured. I am a light user of the product. This shoud not have occurred and it will make me think about buying another LG diswasher. I am very dissapointed in this product.

Two year old dishwasher needs a new motor.

Purchased in 2019. Electronic board quit and had to prove warranty was on it by sending actual picture from manual. Part was still covered but service repair held us up. Made appointment and waited 9 hours only to be re-scheduled. Then when part arrived we waited another nine hours before being re-scheduled. I was able to install part myself. Seems this is a common occurrence.

Great at first...

The dishwasher worked great at first but started giving us issues about 2 years in. Would stop midway through the cycle and you had to manually continue it or else it would shut off completely leaving water soap etc sitting inside it. After another year it stopped working all together would countdown when you hit start and then would just beep and not start. This is our 3rd LG kitchen appliance that stopped working within 3 years of purchase

This dishwasher cleans the dishes good but the top rack has an area that rusted through and LG says it is cosmetic and due to something I put on the shelf. I have never put anything in the dishwasher that could cut through the plastic coating and allow water to penetrate the metal. It is rusted all the way there is a 1 1/2 spot that has no metal or plastic. the plastic seems to have disintegrated as I have never found any pieces in the bottom of my dishwasher.

Racks Rusting and Other Issues

I bought this about 3 years ago. During that time we had to replace the level sensor under warranty the front control panel and its cover. Last year we noticed parts of the racks rusting out in several areas. This is the first time in the 30 years I have owned dishwashers that I have experienced this.

This dishwasher is quietest appliance ever

Our dishwasher was installed about two weeks ago and we use it daily. The dishes come out clean spotless and dry. This dishwasher is also one of the quietest weve ever owned or for that matter even heard at friends homes. So far we very satisfied with our purchase and would highly recommend this LG model.

Rusting baskets

I have had this dishwasher for 4 years and the tips on the baskets have rusted and broken off. Fortunately it is still under warranty. Customer service was very efficient and polite. Once she verified the warranty was in effect she processed a replacement order for both baskets. I received them within a week. Although I feel something is lacking in the manufacturing process I was impressed with customer service.

2 LG TECHS HERE COULD NOT REPAIR FOR LESS THAN NEW

You do not have to share this review but we got nowhere fast. Not only did we buy the part the code said we needed we paid the first tech got a 2nd code and flood on the floor. We bought a new dishwasher different brand. The LG was only 5 years old.

Outstanding quality and a warranty of 10 years.

I have had our dishwasher for quite some time now and it has washed everything that we have put in it perfectly. Even with the extremely hard water in our town which tends to damage units the unit still works perfectly. The 10-year warranty of the drive motor is outstanding and only needed to be replaced because of a piece of glass getting stuck in the machine itself. Highly recommended and would buy anything from this brand in the future.

It broke right after the 1 year warranty expired. To get a certified LG technician to come would cost more than a new dishwasher. The closest certified technician is at least an hour away. I live near Indianapolis but the closest technician is in Lafayette. If I wanted to use a local appliance repairman I would not get the parts for many months and labor would not be covered. I would also have to pay for shipping of parts. This issue should have been a recall not my expense. I used the turbo setting and the motor messed up the electrical circuit on the control panel. My husband and I didnt even use the dishwasher everyday. What a waste of money and my time to even figure out if it could be fixed. We will be buying a new dishwasher and it will not be an LG brand

Horrible experience trying to get LG repair people

I bought my LG dishwasher at best buy. They sold it to me with lots of enthusiasm. What they didnt say was that theres nobody that wants to repair these. Theres no training available for repairman. So I spent two weeks trying to find some place that will repair them. In the end I did it myself. I would not recommend LG unless you are sure you can get it fixed locally.

I have had this dishwasher just 3 years and have had problems with it for nearly a year. LG Customer Service said straight up they would do nothing because it was not under warranty. It cuts off mid cycle.

Love the Element Free Drying

The up side is it washes great it doesnt kill plastics and quiet We can talk in the same room that it is running in. All those items that say top rack only seem to be because of the hot drying element at the bottom which this one does not have it uses blowing air from what I can tell. That is awesome Downsides would be the control panel in the front is belly height so when working on the counter above it is so easy to change the cycle mid stream turn the machine on when not wanted just by a slight bump or brush. The top rack needs to be loaded in the front first it does not push into its connection at the back of the DW easily. We did have an issue with the covering on the bottom rack splitting and the inner post rusting. Took me 3 calls to customer service to actually get one sent always an excuse why the last person hadnt followed through. Just when I was ready to call Costco for help it showed up.

We bought our dish washing in 2020 during covid and it is a real work horse in our kitchen. Love that it cleans very well and has energy saver cycle that does the job in just under one hour However chime buttons are super overly sensitive and sound off- even when someone accidentally brushes up against machine panel.

Overall good but some issues

Overall a nice dishwasher with lots of tech but a few issues e.g. wet hands on capacitive buttons lead to unintended button presses that continue even if you remove hands. The bowl at the bottom could pool water at the end of the cycle.

Good Dishwasher... but

I use my dishwasher daily but I had to renew the top tray as plastic parts melted and the metals were getting rusted/breaking. now bottom doing same thing... parts is an issue.

Inherited some issues

We purchased a home July 1st with this dishwasher installed. I dont know what abuse they put it through from 2018 to now but both racks are nearly rusted through I am in the process of getting new ones via warranty. My only real compliant right now is if you brush up against the control panel it wakes it up and due to the location in our kitchen that happens a lot.

Awful Product and Customer Service Wont Help

If I could give 0 stars I would. Awful product. Only had this product for less than two years and its parts are already broken leaks and wont work. I called customer service and they only tell me that its our fault and we have to pay for service and a new dishwasher. So unhappy and dissatisfied.

The dishwasher worked for about two years then it began acting quirky. Heated buttons did not work consistently. And the other functions also. Finally it just stopped working. I called two of the preferred technician companies they never responded. I had the 3rd respond but it has been over 6 weeks although he says he has the parts has never bothered to return to fix/replace the parts covered under the warranty. I am not happy because I have gone to additional expense to wash by hand all my dishes without resolve. I have contacted LG technician to please complete the job to no avail. I do like LG products honestly do not understand even with the pandemic why it is taking so long for the job to be finished.

Really Disappointing

This dishwasher has been really disappointing. It has had trouble from the beginning. There seems to be something wrong with its electrionic system. Its been very difficult getting someone out from LG to repair it even with an extended warranty. I have never had so much trouble with a dishwasher.

Could have been better

Bought my dishwasher in May2019 from Costco it worked well for little over a year. Electronic control board failed. LG replaced it under warranty. In May2022 started seeing electronic control board issue again coupled with high pitched motor noise. Got the diagnosis done on my dime. LG wanted me to pay for labor charges to replace the parts. Appealed to Customercare repeatedly as the labor cost was about the same I paid for the new dishwasher. LG gave a onetime curtesy free repair since it was less than 3 years since purchasing it. LG customer care is great. My other LG appliances are working great. Thanks LG

It seemed to be a good dishwasher then had issues. LG arraigned to have it repaired. The parts came and were installed but we now have an error code and neither LG not there repair company has returned emails.
